3 - How to Change the Auto Invest End Date
If your model is holding significant
debt at the end of the model / retirement, you may wish to change the end date
for the automatic investments. Typically, this might be approximately five years prior to retirement,
but you can select whichever date you would prefer.
To change the AUTO INVEST END DATE:
1. Go to the ASSETS screen (via the left-hand menu)
2. Select the “RMD DCA Asset” (Recycle My Debt Dollar Cost Averaged Asset) (as indicated below)
When you click on the RMD DCA Asset, the ASSET DETAILS screen will open (as indicated below).
3. At the bottom of the right-hand column, you will see the entry for AUTO INVEST END DATE.
Click on the drop-down menu and select the year you would like the regular investment to cease.Typically, if regular investing is ceased five years prior to retirement, the surplus cash flow is then used to rapidly reduce investment borrowings prior to retirement.
4. Click UPDATE to save the change.
